Prophetia Jeremiae

Filius viginti et unius anni erat Sedecias cum regnare cœpisset, et undecim annis regnavit in Jerusalem. Et nomen matris ejus Amital filia Jeremiæ de Lobna.

Sedecias was one and twenty years old when he began to reign: and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and the name of his mother was Amital, the daughter of Jeremiah of Lobna.

Filio viginti et de uno de anno es Sedeciase cum regna incipe, et undecime annos regna in Ierusalem. Et nomine de matre de illo Amitale filia de Ieremia de Lobna.

Et fecit malum in oculis Domini, juxta omnia quæ fecerat Joakim,

And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the Lord, according to all that Joakim had done.

Et fac malo in oculos de Domino, juxta omni Ioakime fac que,

quoniam furor Domini erat in Jerusalem et in Juda, usquequo projiceret eos a facie sua: et recessit Sedecias a rege Babylonis.

For the wrath of the Lord was against Jerusalem, and against Juda, till he cast them out from his presence: and Sedecias revolted from the king of Babylon.

Quia furore de Domino es in Ierusalem et in Iuda, usquequo proiice illos ab facie suo: et Sedeciase recede ab rege de Babylone.

Factum est autem in anno nono regni ejus, in mense decimo, decima mensis, venit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis, ipse et omnis exercitus ejus, adversus Jerusalem: et obsederunt eam, et ædificaverunt contra eam munitiones in circuitu.

And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, the tenth day of the month, that Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and they besieged it, and built forts against it round about.

Facto es autem in anno nono de regno de illo, in mense decimo, decimo de mense, ipso ad Nabuchodonosor rege de Babylone, et omni exercitu de illo veni, contra Ierusalem: et obside illa, et aedifica contra illa munitiones in circuitu.

Et fuit civitas obsessa usque ad undecimum annum regis Sedeciæ.

And the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Sedecias.

Et es civitate obsisda usque ad undecimo anno de rege de Sedecia.

Mense autem quarto, nona mensis, obtinuit fames civitatem, et non erant alimenta populo terræ.

And in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, a famine overpowered the city: and there was no food for the people of the land.

Mense autem quarto, nono mense, fame obtine civitate, et non alimentos es ad populo de terra.

Et dirupta est civitas, et omnes viri bellatores ejus fugerunt, exieruntque de civitate nocte, per viam portæ quæ est inter duos muros, et ducit ad hortum regis, Chaldæis obsidentibus urbem in gyro, et abierunt per viam quæ ducit in eremum.

And the city was broken up, and the men of war fled, and went out of the city in the night by the way of the gate that is between the two walls, and leadeth to the king's garden, (the Chaldeans besieging the city round about,) and they went by the way that leadeth to the wilderness.

Et dirupa es civitate, et omni viros bellatores de illo fuge, et exi de civitate nocte, per via de porta que es inter duo muro, et duc ad horto de rege, Chaldaeis obside urbe in gyro, et i ab per via que duc in eremo.

Persecutus est autem Chadæorum exercitus regem, et apprehenderunt Sedeciam in deserto quod est juxta Jericho: et omnis comitatus ejus diffugit ab eo.

But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king: and they overtook Sedecias in the desert which is near Jericho: and all his companions were scattered from him.

Perseque es autem de Chadaeis de exercitu rege, et apprehende Sedecia in deserto quod es juxta Iericho: et omni comitor de illo diffunde ab eo.

Cumque comprehendissent regem, adduxerunt eum ad regem Babylonis in Reblatha, quæ est in terra Emath, et locutus est ad eum judicia.

And when they had taken the king, they carried him to the king of Babylon to Reblatha, which is in the land of Emath: and he gave judgment upon him.

Cumque comprehende rege, adduce illo ad rege de Babylone in Reblatha, que es in terra Emath, et locuto es ad illo iudicios.

Et jugulavit rex Babylonis filios Sedeciæ in oculis ejus, sed et omnes principes Juda occidit in Reblatha.

And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Sedecias before his eyes: and he slew all the princes of Juda in Reblatha.

Et rege de Babylone iugula filios de Sedecia in oculos de illo, sed et omni principes Iuda occide in Reblatha.

Et oculos Sedeciæ eruit, et vinxit eum compedibus, et adduxit eum rex Babylonis in Babylonem, et posuit eum in domo carceris usque ad diem mortis ejus.

And he put out the eyes of Sedecias, and bound him with fetters, and the king of Babylon brought him into Babylon, and he put him in prison till the day of his death.

Et oculos de Sedecia erue, et vince illo compedes, et rege de Babylone adduce illo in Babylone, et pone illo in domo de carcere usque ad die de morte de illo.

In mense autem quinto, decima mensis, ipse est annus nonusdecimus Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis, venit Nabuzardan princeps militiæ, qui stabat coram rege Babylonis, in Jerusalem,

And in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, the same is the nineteenth year of Nabuchodonosor, king of Babylon, came Nabuzardan the general of the army, who stood before the king of Babylon in Jerusalem.

In mense autem quinto, decimo mense, ipso es anno nonosdeci ad Nabuchodonosor de rege de Babylone, veni Nabuzardane principe de militia, qui sta coram rege de Babylone, in Ierusalem,

et incendit domum Domini, et domum regis, et omnes domos Jerusalem: et omnem domum magnam igni combussit:

And he burnt the house of the Lord, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem, and every great house he burnt with fire.

Et incende domo de Domino, et domo de rege, et omni domos Ierusalem: et omni domo magna igni combure:

et totum murum Jerusalem per circuitum destruxit cunctus exercitus Chaldæorum qui erat cum magistro militiæ.

And all the army of the Chaldeans that were with the general broke down all the wall of Jerusalem round about.

Et cuncta de exercitu de Chaldaeis per circuitu qui es cum magistro de militia destruca toto muro Ierusalem.

De pauperibus autem populi, et de reliquo vulgo quod remanserat in civitate, et de perfugis qui transfugerant ad regem Babylonis, et ceteros de multitudine transtulit Nabuzardan princeps militiæ.

But Nabuzardan the general carried away captives some of the poor people, and of the rest of the common sort who remained in the city, and of the fugitives that were fled over to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

De paupere autem de populo, et de reliqua vulgo quod remane in civitate, et de perfugas qui transfugie ad rege de Babylone, et cetero de multitudine transfer Nabuzardane principe de militia.

De pauperibus vero terræ reliquit Nabuzardan princeps militiæ vinitores et agricolas.

But of the poor of the land, Nabuzardan the general left some for vinedressers, and for husbandmen.

De paupere vero de terra relinque Nabuzardane principe de militia vinitores et agricolas.

Columnas quoque æreas quæ erant in domo Domini, et bases, et mare æneum quod erat in domo Domini, confregerunt Chaldæi, et tulerunt omne æs eorum in Babylonem,

The Chaldeans also broke in pieces the brazen pillars that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the sea of brass that was in the house of the Lord: and they carried all the brass of them to Babylon.

Columnas etiam aereo que es in domo de Domino, et basees, et mari aeneo quod es in domo de Domino, confrige Chaldaeis, et fer omni aere de illos in Babylone,

et lebetes, et creagras, et psalteria, et phialas, et mortariola, et omnia vasa ærea quæ in ministerio fuerant, tulerunt:

And they took the caldrons, and the fleshhooks, and the psalteries, and the bowls, and the little mortars, and all the brazen vessels that had been used in the ministry: and

Et lebetes, et creagras, et psalterios, et phialas, et mortariolos, et omni vases aereo que in ministerio es, fer:

et hydrias, et thymiamateria, et urceos, et pelves, et candelabra, et mortaria, et cyathos, quotquot aurea, aurea, et quotquot argentea, argentea, tulit magister militiæ:

The general took away the pitchers, and the censers, and the pots, and the basins, and the candlesticks, and the mortars, and the cups: as many as were of gold, in gold: and as many as were of silver, in silver:

Et hydrias, et thymiamaterios, et urceos, et pelves, et candelabros, et mortarios, et cyathos, quotquot aurea, aurea, et quotquot argenteo, argenteo, fer magistro de militia:

et columnas duas, et mare unum, et vitulos duodecim æreos qui erant sub basibus quas fecerat rex Salomon in domo Domini. Non erat pondus æris omnium horum vasorum.

And the two pillars, and one sea, and twelve oxen of brass that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the Lord: there was no weight of the brass of all these vessels.

Et columnas duo, et mari uno, et vitulos duodecime aereo qui es sub basees rege Salomone fac que in domo de Domino. Non pondere de aera de omni de hoc de vases es.

De columnis autem decem et octo cubiti altitudinis erant in columna una, et funiculus duodecim cubitorum circuibat eam: porro grossitudo ejus quatuor digitorum, et intrinsecus cava erat.

And concerning the pillars, one pillar was eighteen cubits high: and a cord of twelve cubits compassed it about: but the thickness thereof was four fingers, and it was hollow within.

De columnas autem deceme et octo cubito de altitudine es in columna uno, et funiculo duodecime de cubitos circui illa: porro grossitudine de illo quatuore de digitos, et intrinsecus cava es.

Et capitella super utramque ærea: altitudo capitelli unius quinque cubitorum, et retiacula et malogranata super coronam in circuitu, omnia ærea: similiter columnæ secundæ, et malogranata.

And chapiters of brass were upon both: and the height of one chapiter was five cubits: and network, and pomegranates were upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The same of the second pillar, and the pomegranates.

Et capitellos super et utro aereo: altitudine de capitello de uno quinque de cubito, et retiaculos et malogra super corona in circuitu, omni aereo: similiter columnas de secundo, et malogra.

Et fuerunt malogranata nonaginta sex dependentia: et omnia malogranata centum, retiaculis circumdabantur.

And there were ninety-six pomegranates hanging down: and the pomegranates being a hundred in all, were compassed with network.

Et es malogra nonaginta sexu depende: et omni malogra cento, retiaculos circumda.

Et tulit magister militiæ Saraiam sacerdotem primum, et Sophoniam sacerdotem secundum, et tres custodes vestibuli:

And the general took Saraias the chief priest, and Sophonias the second priest, and the three keepers of the entry.

Et magistro de militia fer Saraia sacerdote primo, et Sophonia sacerdote secundo, et tre custode de vestibulo:

et de civitate tulit eunuchum unum, qui erat præpositus super viros bellatores: et septem viros de his qui videbant faciem regis, qui inventi sunt in civitate: et scribam principem militum, qui probabat tyrones: et sexaginta viros de populo terræ, qui inventi sunt in medio civitatis.

He also took out of the city one eunuch that was chief over the men of war: and seven men of them that were near the king's person, that were found in the city: and a scribe, an officer of the army who exercised the young soldiers: and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.

Et de civitate fer eunucho uno, qui es praepone super viros bellatores: et septeme viro de hoc qui vide facie de rege, qui inveni es in civitate: et scribe principe de milites, qui proba tyros: et sexaginta viros de populo de terra, qui inveni es in medio de civitate.

Tulit autem eos Nabuzardan magister militiæ, et duxit eos ad regem Babylonis in Reblatha:

And Nabuzardan the general took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon, to Reblatha.

Nabuzardane autem magistro de militia fer illos, et duc illos ad rege de Babylone in Reblatha:

et percussit eos rex Babylonis, et interfecit eos in Reblatha in terra Emath: et translatus est Juda de terra sua.

And the king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death in Reblatha, in the land of Emath: and Juda was carried away captive out of his land.

Et rege de Babylone percute illos, et interfice illos in Reblatha in terra Emath: et transfer es Iuda de terra suo.

Iste est populus quem transtulit Nabuchodonosor: in anno septimo, Judæos tria millia et viginti tres:

This is the people whom Nabuchodonosor carried away captive: in the seventh year, three thousand and twenty-three Jews.

in anno octavodecimo Nabuchodonosor, de Jerusalem animas octingentas triginta duas:

In the eighteenth year of Nabuchodonosor, eight hundred and thirty-two souls from Jerusalem.

in anno vigesimo tertio Nabuchodonosor, transtulit Nabuzardan magister militiæ animas Judæorum septingentas quadraginta quinque. Omnes ergo animæ, quatuor millia sexcentæ.

In the three and twentieth year of Nabuchodonosor, Nabuzardan the general carried away of the Jews seven hundred and forty-five souls. So all the souls were four thousand six hundred.

In anno vigesimo tertio Nabuchodonosor, transfer Nabuzardane magistro de militia animas de Iudaeos septingentate quadraginta quinque. Omni ergo animas, quatuore mile de sexcenta.

Et factum est in trigesimo septimo anno transmigrationis Joachin regis Juda, duodecimo mense, vigesima quinta mensis, elevavit Evilmerodach rex Babylonis, ipso anno regni sui, caput Joachin regis Juda, et eduxit eum de domo carceris.

And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Joachin king of Juda, in the twelfth month, the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Joachin king of Juda, and brought him forth out of prison.

Et facto es in trigesimo septimo anno de transmigratione Ioachine de rege Iuda, duodecimo mense, vigesimo quinto de mense, eleva ad Evilmerodach rege de Babylone, ipso anno de regno suo, capite Ioachine de rege Iuda, et educe illo de domo de carcere.

Et locutus est cum eo bona, et posuit thronum ejus super thronos regum qui erant post se in Babylone.

And he spoke kindly to him, and he set his throne above the thrones of the kings that were with him in Babylon.

Et locuto es cum eo bono, et pone throno de illo super thronos de reges qui es post se in Babylone.

Et mutavit vestimenta carceris ejus, et comedebat panem coram eo semper cunctis diebus vitæ suæ.

And he changed his prison garments, and he ate bread before him always all the days of his life.

Et muta vestimentos de carcere de illo, et comede pane coram eo semper cuncta dies de vita suo.

Et cibaria ejus, cibaria perpetua dabantur ei a rege Babylonis, statuta per singulos dies, usque ad diem mortis suæ, cunctis diebus vitæ ejus.

And for his diet a continual provision was allowed him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion, until the day of his death, all the days of his life.

Et cibarios de illo, cibarios perpetua da ad illo ab rege de Babylone, statue per singulo dies, usque ad die de morte suo, cuncta dies de vita de illo.
