Prophetia Jeremiae

Jeremiah

1

Verbum quod locutus est Jeremias propheta ad Baruch filium Neriæ, cum scripsisset verba hæc in libro ex ore Jeremiæ, anno quarto Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, dicens:

The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Nerias, when he had written these words in a book, out of the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, saying:

Verbo quod locuto es Ieremia propheta ad Baruch filio de Neria, cum scribe verbos hoc in libro ex ore de Ieremia, anno quarto Ioakime de filio de Iosiase de rege Iuda, dicente:

2

Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Israël ad te, Baruch:

Thus saith the Lord the God of Israel to thee, Baruch:

Domino Deo Israële dic hoc ad te, Baruch:

3

Dixisti: Væ misero mihi! quoniam addidit Dominus dolorem dolori meo: laboravi in gemitu meo, et requiem non inveni.

Thou hast said: Woe is me, wretch that I am, for the Lord hath added sorrow to my sorrow: I am wearied with my groans, and I find no rest.

Dic: vae mitte ad me! Quia Domino adde dolore ad dolore meo: labora in gemitu meo, et requie non inveni.

4

Hæc dicit Dominus: Sic dices ad eum: Ecce quos ædificavi, ego destruo, et quos plantavi, ego evello, et universam terram hanc:

Thus saith the Lord: Thus shalt thou say to him: Behold, them whom I have built, I do destroy: and them whom I have planted, I do pluck up, and all this land.

Domino dic hoc: sic dic ad illo: ecce me destrue, que aedifica, et que planta, me evelle, et universa terra hoc:

5

et tu quæris tibi grandia? noli quærere, quia ecce ego adducam malum super omnem carnem, ait Dominus, et dabo tibi animam tuam in salutem in omnibus locis ad quæcumque perrexeris.

And dost thou seek great things for thyself? Seek not: for behold I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord! but I will give thee thy life, and save thee in all places whithersoever thou shalt go.

Et te quaere ad te grandi? Ne vol quaere, quia ecce me adduce malo super omni carne, Domino dic, et da ad te anima tuo in salute in omni locos ad omni perge.
