Prophetia Jeremiae

In principio regni Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, factum est verbum istud ad Jeremiam a Domino, dicens:

In the beginning of the reign of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, this word came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying:

In principio de regno Ioakime de filio de Iosiase de rege Iuda, facto es verbo isto ad Ieremia ab Domino, dicente:

Hæc dicit Dominus ad me: Fac tibi vincula et catenas, et pones eas in collo tuo,

Thus saith the Lord to me: Make thee bands, and chains: and thou shalt put them on thy neck.

Domino dic hoc ad me: fac ad te vinculos et catenas, et pone illas in collo tuo,

et mittes eas ad regem Edom, et ad regem Moab, et ad regem filiorum Ammon, et ad regem Tyri, et ad regem Sidonis, in manu nuntiorum qui venerunt Jerusalem ad Sedeciam regem Juda.

And thou shalt send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the children of Ammon, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon: by the hand of the messengers that are come to Jerusalem to Sedecias the king of Juda.

Et mitte illas ad rege Edome, et ad rege Moabe, et ad rege de filios Ammone, et ad rege de Tyro, et ad rege de Sidone, in manu de nuntios qui veni Ierusalem ad Sedecia rege Iuda.

Et præcipies eis ut ad dominos suos loquantur: Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël: Hæc dicetis ad dominos vestros:

And thou shalt command them to speak to their masters: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Thus shall you say to your masters:

Et praecipie ad illos ut ad dominos suo loque: hoc dic Domino de exercitus, Deo Israële: hoc dic ad dominos vestro:

Ego feci terram, et homines, et jumenta quæ sunt super faciem terræ, in fortitudine mea magna, et in brachio meo extento, et dedi eam ei qui placuit in oculis meis.

I made the earth, and the men and the beasts that are upon the face of the earth, by my great power, and by my stretched out arm: and I have given it to whom it seemed good in my eyes.

Me fac terra, et homines, et iumentos que es super facie de terra, in fortitudine meo magna, et in brachio meo extende, et da illa ad illo qui place in oculos meo.

Et nunc itaque ego dedi omnes terras istas in manu Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis servi mei: insuper et bestias agri dedi ei, ut serviant illi:

And now I have given all these lands into the hand of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon my servant: moreover also the beasts of the field I have given him to serve him.

Et nunc itaque me da omni terras isto in manu Nabuchodonosor de rege de Babylone de servo meo: insuper et bestias de agro da ad illo, ut servi ad illo:

et servient ei omnes gentes, et filio ejus, et filio filii ejus, donec veniat tempus terræ ejus et ipsius: et servient ei gentes multæ et reges magni.

And all nations shall serve him, and his son, and his son's son: till the time come for his land and himself: and many nations and great kings shall serve him.

Et omni ad illo gentes servi, et ad filio de illo, et ad filio de filio de illo, usque que que veni tempore de terra de illo et de ipso: et gentes ad illo multo et reges magna servi.

Gens autem et regnum quod non servierit Nabuchodonosor regi Babylonis, et quicumque non curvaverit collum suum sub jugo regis Babylonis, in gladio, et in fame, et in peste visitabo super gentem illam, ait Dominus, donec consumam eos in manu ejus.

But the nation and kingdom that will not serve Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, and whosoever will not bend his neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon: I will visit upon that nation with the sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, saith the Lord: till I consume them by his hand.

Gente autem et regno quod non servi ad Nabuchodonosor ad rege de Babylone, et omni non curva collo suo sub iugo de rege de Babylone, in gladio, et in fame, et in peste visita super gente illa, Domino dic, usque que consume illos in manu de illo.

Vos ergo nolite audire prophetas vestros, et divinos, et somniatores, et augures, et maleficos, qui dicunt vobis: Non servietis regi Babylonis:

Therefore hearken not to your prophets, and diviners, and dreamers, and soothsayers, and sorcerers, that say to you: You shall not serve the king of Babylon.

Vos ergo ne vol audire prophetas vestro, et divino, et somniatores, et augures, et malefico, qui dic ad vos: non servi ad rege de Babylone:

quia mendacium prophetant vobis, ut longe vos faciant de terra vestra, et ejiciant vos, et pereatis.

For they prophesy lies to you: to remove you far from your country, and cast you out, and to make you perish.

Quia mendacio propheta ad vos, ut longe vos fac de terra vestro, et eicie vos, et peri.

Porro gens quæ subjecerit cervicem suam sub jugo regis Babylonis, et servierit ei, dimittam eam in terra sua, dicit Dominus, et colet eam, et habitabit in ea.

But the nation that shall bend down their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and shall serve him: I will let them remain in their own land, saith the Lord: and they shall till it, and dwell in it.

Porro gente que subicie cervice suo sub iugo de rege de Babylone, et servi ad illo, dimitte illa in terra suo, Domino dic, et cole illa, et habita in illa.

Et ad Sedeciam regem Juda locutus sum secundum omnia verba hæc, dicens: Subjicite colla vestra sub jugo regis Babylonis, et servite ei et populo ejus, et vivetis.

And I spoke to Sedecias the king of Juda according to all these words, saying: Bend down your necks under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, and his people, and you shall live.

Et ad Sedecia rege Iuda locuto es secundo omni verbos hoc, dicente: subiice collas vestro sub iugo de rege de Babylone, et servi ad illo et ad populo de illo, et vive.

Quare moriemini, tu et populus tuus, gladio, et fame, et peste, sicut locutus est Dominus ad gentem quæ servire noluerit regi Babylonis?

Why will you die, thou and thy people by the sword, and by famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

Quare te, et populo tuo more, gladio, et fame, et peste, sicut locuto es Domino ad gente que servi ne vol ad rege de Babylone?

Nolite audire verba prophetarum dicentium vobis: Non servietis regi Babylonis: quia mendacium ipsi loquuntur vobis:

Hearken not to the words of the prophets that say to you: You shall not serve the king of Babylon: for they tell you a lie.

Ne vol audire verbos de prophetas dic ad vos: non servi ad rege de Babylone: quia ipso loque mendacio ad vos:

quia non misi eos, ait Dominus, et ipsi prophetant in nomine meo mendaciter, ut ejiciant vos, et pereatis, tam vos quam prophetæ qui vaticinantur vobis.

For I have not sent them, saith the Lord: and they prophesy in my name falsely: to drive you out, and that you may perish, both you, and the prophets that prophesy to you.

Quia non mitte illos, Domino dic, et ipso propheta in nomine meo mendaciter, ut eicie vos, et peri, tam vos quam prophetas qui vaticinor ad vos.

Et ad sacerdotes, et ad populum istum, locutus sum, dicens: Hæc dicit Dominus: Nolite audire verba prophetarum vestrorum, qui prophetant vobis, dicentes: Ecce vasa Domini revertentur de Babylone nunc cito: mendacium enim prophetant vobis.

I spoke also to the priests, and to this people, saying: Thus saith the Lord: Hearken not to the words of your prophets, that prophesy to you, saying: Behold the vessels of the Lord shall now in a short time be brought again from Babylon: for they prophesy a lie unto you.

Et ad sacerdotes, et ad populo isto, locuto es, dicente: Domino dic hoc: ne vol audire verbos de prophetas vestro, qui propheta ad vos, dicente: ecce vases de Domino reverte de Babylone nunc cito: mendacio nam propheta ad vos.

Nolite ergo audire eos: sed servite regi Babylonis, ut vivatis: quare datur hæc civitas in solitudinem?

Therefore hearken not to them, but serve the king of Babylon, that you may live. Why should this city be given up to desolation?

Ne vol ergo audire illos: sed servi ad rege de Babylone, ut vive: quare hoc civitate da in solitudine?

Et si prophetæ sunt, et est verbum Domini in eis, occurrant Domino exercituum, ut non veniant vasa quæ derelicta fuerant in domo Domini, et in domo regis Juda, et in Jerusalem, in Babylonem.

But if they be prophets, and the word of the Lord be in them: let them interpose themselves before the Lord of hosts, that the vessels which were left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Juda, and in Jerusalem, may not go to Babylon.

Et si prophetas es, et verbo de Domino es in illos, occurre ad Domino de exercitus, ut non veni vases que derelingua es in domo de Domino, et in domo de rege Iuda, et in Ierusalem, in Babylone.

Quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum ad columnas, et ad mare, et ad bases, et ad reliqua vasorum quæ remanserunt in civitate hac,

For thus saith the Lord of hosts to the pillars, and to the sea, and to the bases, and to the rest of the vessels that remain in this city:

Quia Domino de exercitus dic hoc ad columnas, et ad mari, et ad basees, et ad reliqua de vases que remane in civitate hoc,

quæ non tulit Nabuchodonosor rex Babylonis cum transferret Jechoniam filium Joakim regem Juda de Jerusalem in Babylonem, et omnes optimates Juda et Jerusalem:

Which Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon did not take, when he carried away Jechonias the son of Joakim the king of Juda, from Jerusalem to Babylon, and all the great men of Juda and Jerusalem.

Que non fer ad Nabuchodonosor rege de Babylone cum transfer Iechoniase filio Ioakime rege Iuda de Ierusalem in Babylone, et omni optimates Iuda et Ierusalem:

quia hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël, ad vasa quæ derelicta sunt in domo Domini, et in domo regis Juda et Jerusalem:

For thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel, to the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Juda and Jerusalem:

Quia hoc dic Domino de exercitus, Deo Israële, ad vases que derelingua es in domo de Domino, et in domo de rege Iuda et Ierusalem:

In Babylonem transferentur, et ibi erunt usque ad diem visitationis suæ, dicit Dominus, et afferri faciam ea, et restitui in loco isto.

They shall be carried to Babylon, and there they shall be until the day of their visitation, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to be brought, and to be restored in this place.

In Babylone transfer, et ibi es usque ad die de visitatione suo, Domino dic, et ad-fer fac illa, et restitue in loco isto.
