Prophetia Isaiae

Verbum quod vidit Isaias, filius Amos, super Juda et Jerusalem.

The word that Isaiah the son of Amos saw, concerning Juda and Jerusalem.

Verbo quod vide Isaiase, filio Amore, super Iuda et Ierusalem.

Et erit in novissimis diebus: præparatus mons domus Domini in vertice montium, et elevabitur super colles; et fluent ad eum omnes gentes,

And in the last days the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be prepared on the top of mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it.

Et es in novissimo dies: praepara monte domo de Domino in vertice de montes, et eleva super colles; et omni ad illo gentes flue,

et ibunt populi multi, et dicent: Venite, et ascendamus ad montem Domini, et ad domum Dei Jacob; et docebit nos vias suas, et ambulabimus in semitis ejus, quia de Sion exibit lex, et verbum Domini de Jerusalem.

And many people shall go, and say: Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob, and he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall come forth from Sion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Et populos multo i, et dic: veni, et ascende ad monte de Domino, et ad domo de Deo Iacobo; et doce nos vias suo, et ambula in semitas de illo, quia de Sione exi lege, et verbo de Domino de Ierusalem.

Et judicabit gentes, et arguet populos multos; et conflabunt gladios suos in vomeres, et lanceas suas in falces. Non levabit gens contra gentem gladium, nec exercebuntur ultra ad prælium.

And he shall judge the Gentiles, and rebuke many people: and they shall turn their swords into ploughshares, and their spears into sickles: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they be exercised any more to war.

Et iudica gentes, et argue populos multo; et confla gladios suo in vomeres, et lanceas suo in falces. Non gente leva contra gente gladio, nec exerce ultra ad praelio.

Domus Jacob, venite, et ambulemus in lumine Domini.

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Domo Iacobo, veni, et ambula in lumine de Domino.

Projecisti enim populum tuum, domum Jacob, quia repleti sunt ut olim, et augeres habuerunt ut Philisthiim, et pueris alienis adhæserunt.

For thou hast cast off thy people, the house of Jacob: because they are filled as in times past, and have had soothsayers as the Philistines, and have adhered to strange children.

Proicie nam populo tuo, domo Iacobo, quia reple es ut olim, et auge habe ut Philisthio, et ad pueros aliena adhaere.

Repleta est terra argento et auro, et non est finis thesaurorum ejus.

Their land is filled with silver and gold: and there is no end of their treasures.

Reple es terra argento et auro, et non fine de thesauros de illo es.

Et repleta est terra ejus equis, et innumerabiles quadrigæ ejus. Et repleta est terra ejus idolis; opus manuum suarum adoraverunt, quod fecerunt digiti eorum.

And their land is filled with horses: and their chariots are innumerable. Their land also is full of idols: they have adored the work of their own hands, which their own fingers have made.

Et reple es terra de illo equos, et innumerabile quadrigas de illo. Et reple es terra de illo ad idolos; opere de manus suo adora, quod fac digitos de illos.

Et incurvavit se homo, et humiliatus est vir; ne ergo dimittas eis.

And man hath bowed himself down, and man hath been debased: therefore forgive them not.

Et homine incurva se, et humilia es viro; ne ergo dimitte ad illos.

Ingredere in petram, et abscondere in fossa humo a facie timoris Domini, et a gloria majestatis ejus.

Enter thou into the rock, and hide thee in the pit from the face of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty.

Ingredior in petra, et absconde in fossa humo ab facie de timore de Domino, et ab gloria de maiestate de illo.

Oculi sublimes hominis humiliati sunt, et incurvabitur altitudo virorum; exaltabitur autem Dominus solus in die illa.

The lofty eyes of man are humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be made to stoop: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Oculos sublime de homine humilia es, et altitudine de viros incurva; Domino autem solo exalta in die illa.

Quia dies Domini exercituum super omnem superbum, et excelsum, et super omnem arrogantem, et humiliabitur;

Because the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and highminded, and upon every one that is arrogant, and he shall be humbled.

Quia die de Domino de exercitus super omni superbo, et excelso, et super omni arroga, et humilia;

et super omnes cedros Libani sublimes et erectas, et super omnes quercus Basan,

And upon all the tall and lofty cedars of Libanus, and upon all the oaks of Basan.

Et super omni cedros de Libano sublime et erige, et super omni quercus Basan,

et super omnes montes excelsos, et super omnes colles elevatos,

And upon all the high mountains and upon all the elevated hills.

Et super omni montes excelso, et super omni colles eleva,

et super omnem turrim excelsam, et super omnem murum munitum,

And upon every high tower, and every fenced wall.

Et super omni turre excelle, et super omni muro munie,

et super omnes naves Tharsis, et super omne quod visu pulchrum est,

And upon all the ships of Tharsis, and upon all that is fair to behold.

Et super omni navis Tharsis, et super omni quod visu pulcherrimo es,

et incurvabitur sublimitas hominum, et humiliabitur altitudo virorum, et elevabitur Dominus solus in die illa;

And the loftiness of men shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Et sublimitate de homines incurva, et altitudine de viros humilia, et Domino solo eleva in die illa;

et idola penitus conterentur;

And idols shall be utterly destroyed.

Et idolas penitus contere;

et introibunt in speluncas petrarum, et in voragines terræ, a facie formidinis Domini et a gloria majestatis ejus, cum surrexerit percutere terram.

And they shall go into the holes of rocks, and into the caves of the earth from the face of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise up to strike the earth.

Et introi in speluncas de petras, et in voragenes de terra, ab facie de formidino de Domino et ab gloria de maiestate de illo, cum surge percute terra.

In die illa projiciet homo idola argenti sui, et simulacra auri sui, quæ fecerat sibi ut adoraret, talpas et vespertiliones.

In that day a man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which he had made for himself to adore, moles and bats.

In die illa proiici homine idolas de argento suo, et simulacros de auro suo, que fac ad se ut adora, talpas et vespertiliones.

Et ingreditur scissuras petrarum et in cavernas saxorum, a facie formidinis Domini, et a gloria majestatis ejus, cum surrexerit percutere terram.

And he shall go into the clefts of rocks, and into the holes of stones from the face of the fear of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he shall rise up to strike the earth.

Et scissuras de petras ingredior et in cavernas de saxos, ab facie de formidino de Domino, et ab gloria de maiestate de illo, cum surge percute terra.

Quiescite ergo ab homine, cujus spiritus in naribus ejus est, quia excelsus reputatus est ipse.

Cease ye therefore from the man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for he is reputed high.

Quiesce ergo ab homine, de que spiritu in nares de illo es, quia excelso reputa es ipso.
