Colossians
Igitur, si consurrexistis cum Christo: quæ sursum sunt quærite, ubi Christus est in dextera Dei sedens:
Therefore if you be risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is sitting at the right hand of God.
Ergo, si consurge cum Christo: que sursum es quaere, ubi Christo es in dextera de Deo sedente:
quæ sursum sunt sapite, non quæ super terram.
Mind the things that are above, not the things that are upon the earth.
Que sursum es sape, non que super terra.
Mortui enim estis, et vita vestra est abscondita cum Christo in Deo.
For you are dead: and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Mortuo nam es, et vita vestro es absconditus cum Christo in Deo.
Cum Christus apparuerit, vita vestra: tunc et vos apparebitis cum ipso in gloria.
When Christ shall appear, who is your life, then you also shall appear with him in glory.
Cum Christo appare, vita vestro: tunc et vos appare cum ipso in gloria.
Mortificate ergo membra vestra, quæ sunt super terram: fornicationem, immunditiam, libidinem, concupiscentiam malam, et avaritiam, quæ est simulacrorum servitus:
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth: fornication, uncleanness, lust, evil concupiscence and covetousness, which is the service of idols.
Mortifica ergo membros vestro, que es super terra: fornicatione, immunditia, libidine, concupiscentia malo, et avaritia, que es de simulacros servitute:
propter quæ venit ira Dei super filios incredulitatis:
For which things the wrath of God cometh upon the children of unbelief.
Propter que ira de Deo veni super filios de incredulitate:
in quibus et vos ambulastis aliquando, cum viveretis in illis.
In which you also walked some time, when you lived in them.
In que et vos ambula aliquando, cum vive in illos.
Nunc autem deponite et vos omnia: iram, indignationem, malitiam, blasphemiam, turpem sermonem de ore vestro.
But now put you also all away: anger, indignation, malice, blasphemy, filthy speech out of your mouth.
Nunc autem depone et vos omni: ira, indignatione, malitia, blasphemia, turpissima sermone de ore vestro.
Nolite mentiri invicem, expoliantes vos veterem hominem cum actibus suis,
Lie not one to another: stripping yourselves of the old man with his deeds,
Ne vol mentior invicem, expolia vos veteri homine cum actus suo,
et induentes novum eum, qui renovatur in agnitionem secundum imaginem ejus qui creavit illum:
And putting on the new, him who is renewed unto knowledge, according to the image of him that created him.
Et indue novo illo, qui renova in agnitione secundo imagine de illo qui crea illo:
ubi non est gentilis et Judæus, circumcisio et præputium, Barbarus et Scytha, servus et liber: sed omnia, et in omnibus Christus.
Where there is neither Gentile nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, bond nor free. But Christ is all and in all.
Ubi non es gentili et Iudaeo, circumcisione et praeputio, Barbaro et Scytha, servo et libro: sed omni, et in omni Christo.
Induite vos ergo, sicut electi Dei, sancti, et dilecti, viscera misericordiæ, benignitatem, humilitatem, modestiam, patientiam:
Put ye on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, the bowels of mercy, benignity, humility, modesty, patience:
Indue vos ergo, sicut elige de Deo, sancto, et dilige, visceras de misericordia, benignitate, humilitate, modestia, patientia:
supportantes invicem, et donantes vobismetipsis si quis adversus aliquem habet querelam: sicut et Dominus donavit vobis, ita et vos.
Bearing with one another and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another. Even as the Lord hath forgiven you, so do you also.
Supporta invicem, et dona vobismeti si qui contra aliquo habe querela: sicut et Domino dona ad vos, ita et vos.
Super omnia autem hæc, caritatem habete, quod est vinculum perfectionis:
But above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection.
Super omni autem hoc, caritate habe, quod es vinculo de perfectione:
et pax Christi exsultet in cordibus vestris, in qua et vocati estis in uno corpore: et grati estote.
And let the peace of Christ rejoice in your hearts, wherein also you are called in one body: and be ye thankful.
Et pace de Christo exsulta in cordes vestro, in quo et voca es in uno corpore: et grato es.
Verbum Christi habitet in vobis abundanter, in omni sapientia, docentes, et commonentes vosmetipsos, psalmis, hymnis, et canticis spiritualibus, in gratia cantantes in cordibus vestris Deo.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you abundantly: in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual canticles, singing in grace in your hearts to God.
Verbo de Christo habita in vos abundanter, in omni sapientia, doce, et commone vosmetior, psalmos, hymnos, et canticos spirituali, in gratia canta in cordes vestro Deo.
Omne, quodcumque facitis in verbo aut in opere, omnia in nomine Domini Jesu Christi, gratias agentes Deo et Patri per ipsum.
All whatsoever you do in word or in work, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Omni, omni fac in verbo aut in opere, omni in nomine de Domino de Iesu de Christo, gratias age ad Deo et ad Patre per ipso.
Mulieres, subditæ estote viris, sicut oportet, in Domino.
Wives, be subject to your husbands, as it behoveth in the Lord.
Mulieres, subdito es ad viros, sicut debe, in Domino.
Viri, diligite uxores vestras, et nolite amari esse ad illas.
Husbands, love your wives and be not bitter towards them.
Viros, dilige uxores vestro, et ne vol ama es ad illas.
Filii, obedite parentibus per omnia: hoc enim placitum est in Domino.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
Filios, obedi ad parentes per omni: hoc nam place es in Domino.
Patres, nolite ad indignationem provocare filios vestros, ut non pusillo animo fiant.
Fathers, provoke not your children to indignation, lest they be discouraged.
Patres, ne vol ad indignatione provoca filios vestro, ut non pusillo animo fi.
Servi, obedite per omnia dominis carnalibus, non ad oculum servientes, quasi hominibus placentes, sed in simplicitate cordis, timentes Deum.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh: not serving to the eye, as pleasing men: but in simplicity of heart, fearing God.
Servis, obedi per omni dominos carnali, non ad oculo servi, quasi ad homines place, sed in simplicitate de corde, time Deo.
Quodcumque facitis, ex animo operamini sicut Domino, et non hominibus:
Whatsoever you do, do it from the heart, as to the Lord, and not to men:
Omni fac, ex animo operor sicut ad Domino, et non ad homines:
scientes quod a Domino accipietis retributionem hæreditatis. Domino Christo servite.
Knowing that you shall receive of the Lord the reward of inheritance. Serve ye the Lord Christ.
Sci quod ab Domino accipe retributione de haereditate. Domino Christo servi.
Qui enim injuriam facit, recipiet id quod inique gessit: et non est personarum acceptio apud Deum.
For he that doth wrong shall receive for that which he hath done wrongfully. And there is no respect of persons with God.
Qui nam fac iniuria, recipe id quod inique gere: et non es de personas acceptione apud Deo.
