Prophetia Amos

Verba Amos, qui fuit in pastoribus de Thecue, quæ vidit super Israël in diebus Oziæ, regis Juda, et in diebus Jeroboam, filii Joas, regis Israël, ante duos annos terræmotus.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdsmen of Thecua: which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Ozias king of Juda, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joas king of Israel two years before the earthquake.

Verbas Amore, qui es in pastores de Thecue, que vide super Israële in dies de Oziase, de rege Iuda, et in dies Ieroboame, filio Ioase, de rege Israële, ante duo anno terraemotus.

Et dixit: Dominus de Sion rugiet, et de Jerusalem dabit vocem suam; et luxerunt speciosa pastorum, et exsiccatus est vertex Carmeli.

And he said: The Lord will roar from Sion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem: and the beautiful places of the shepherds have mourned, and the top of Carmel is withered.

Et domino: de Sione dic rugie, et de Ierusalem i da voce suo; et luce specioso de pastus, et exsiccor es vertice Carmelio.

Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Damasci, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod trituraverint in plaustris ferreis Galaad.

Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Damascus, and for four I will not convert it: because they have thrashed Galaad with iron wains.

Domino dic hoc: super tre scelere de Damasco, et super quatuore non converte illo, eo quod tritura in plaustras ferrea Galaade.

Et mittam ignem in domum Azaël, et devorabit domos Benadad.

And I will send a fire into the house of Azael, and it shall devour the houses of Benadad.

Et mitte igni in domo de Azaële, et devora domos Benadade.

Et conteram vectem Damasci: et disperdam habitatorem de campo idoli, et tenentem sceptrum de domo voluptatis: et transferetur populus Syriæ Cyrenen, dicit Dominus.

And I will break the bar of Damascus: and I will cut off the inhabitants from the plain of the idol, and him that holdeth the sceptre from the house of pleasure: and the people of Syria shall be carried away to Cyrene, saith the Lord.

Et contere vecto de Damasco: et disperde habitatore de campo de idolo, et tene sceptro de domo de voluptate: et populo de Syria transfer Cyreneo, Domino dic.

Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Gazæ, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod transtulerint captivitatem perfectam, ut concluderent eam in Idumæa.

Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Gaza, and for four I will not convert it: because they have carried away a perfect captivity to shut them up in Edom.

Domino dic hoc: super tre scelere de Gazase, et super quatuore non converte illo, eo quod transfer captivitate perfecto, ut conclude illa in Idumaea.

Et mittam ignem in murum Gazæ, et devorabit ædes ejus.

And I will send a fire on the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour the houses thereof.

Et mitte igni in muro de Gazase, et devora aedes de illo.

Et disperdam habitatorem de Azoto, et tenentem sceptrum de Ascalone: et convertam manum meam super Accaron, et peribunt reliqui Philisthinorum, dicit Dominus Deus.

And I will cut off the inhabitant from Azotus, and him that holdeth the sceptre from Ascalon: and I will turn my hand against Accaron, and the rest of the Philistines shall perish, saith the Lord God.

Et disperde habitatore de Azoto, et tene sceptro de Ascalone: et converte manu meo super Accarone, et reliqua de Philisthinos peri, Domino Deo dic.

Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Tyri, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod concluserint captivitatem perfectam in Idumæa, et non sint recordati fœderis fratrum.

Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Tyre, and for four I will not convert it: because they have shut up an entire captivity in Edom, and have not remembered the covenant of brethren.

Domino dic hoc: super tre scelere de Tyro, et super quatuore non converte illo, eo quod conclude captivitate perfecto in Idumaea, et non es recordor de foedro de fratres.

Et mittam ignem in murum Tyri, et devorabit ædes ejus.

And I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour the houses thereof.

Et mitte igni in muro de Tyro, et devora aedes de illo.

Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus Edom, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod persecutus sit in gladio fratrem suum, et violaverit misericordiam ejus, et tenuerit ultra furorem suum, et indignationem suam servaverit usque in finem.

Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of Edom, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath pursued his brother with the sword, and hath carried on his fury, and hath kept his wrath to the end.

Domino dic hoc: super tre scelere Edome, et super quatuore non converte illo, eo quod perseque es in gladio fratre suo, et viola misericordia de illo, et tene ultra furore suo, et indignatione suo serva usque in fine.

Mittam ignem in Theman, et devorabit ædes Bosræ.

I will send a fire into Theman: and it shall devour the houses of Bosra.

Mitte igni in Themane, et devora aedes de Bosrah.

Hæc dicit Dominus: Super tribus sceleribus filiorum Ammon, et super quatuor non convertam eum, eo quod dissecuerit prægnantes Galaad ad dilatandum terminum suum.

Thus saith the Lord: For three crimes of the children of Ammon, and for four I will not convert him: because he hath ripped up the women with child of Galaad to enlarge his border.

Domino dic hoc: super tre scelere de filios Ammone, et super quatuore non converte illo, eo quod dissequor praegna Galaade ad dilata termino suo.

Et succendam ignem in muro Rabba, et devorabit ædes ejus in ululatu in die belli, et in turbine in die commotionis.

And I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabba: and it shall devour the houses thereof with shouting in the day of battle, and with a whirlwind in the day of trouble.

Et succende igni in muro Rabba, et devora aedes de illo in ululatu in die de bello, et in turbine in die de commotione.

Et ibit Melchom in captivitatem, ipse et principes ejus simul, dicit Dominus.

And Melchom shall go into captivity, both he, and his princes together, saith the Lord.

Et i Melchome in captivitate, ipso et principes de illo simul, Domino dic.
